Semiotics


Semiotics i understand to be a study of signs, symbols and signification rather than what has meaning, its a study of how to create meaning, using sign, signifier,denotation and connotation. together they makes up semiotics. With using signs, simply anything can be used to communicate, to tell a truth or a lie. signs where the relation combined with signifier and signified.
Definition of denotation in the dictionary is:

The basic meaning of a sign such as the word 'LIGHT' signifies brightness and something productive.
 where as connotation is the secondary meaning, signs which could be used as signifiers for a different meaning, such as the word 'LIGHT' signifies Purity.
